Wind Power Industry in 2023

The Global Wind Report published by the Global Wind Energy Council in march projects a rapid growth of the wind industry in 2023.

In 2022 the industry experienced a decline due to governments policies designed to minimize costs, but also inflation, higher logistics costs, and inadequate licensing rules, resulting in a loss of 17% from 2021.

This year, the industry is supposed to reach 1 terawatt of wind energy installed worldwide, while aiming to reach 2 terawatts by 2030. It is an ambitious goal that could be achieved thanks to the laws passed by the major industrialized countries. As a matter of fact, the United States passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which grants incentives for renewable energy development, while Europe and China approved policies which extend the role of renewables.

Climate change is challenging every country in the world and it could increase the temperature of the globe effecting our lives negatively. To reduce its impact, experts recommend that governments make an effort to stay within the 1.5 degrees Celsius warming threshold that scientists consider critical to prevent the worst effects of climate change.

In this scenario, wind energy can contribute to achieve this goal and to secure a cleaner future for everyone.
