Its economy mostly relies on industry with a focus on petroleum gas.
Basically, much of the nation's wealth is derived from its large reserves of which make Trinidad and Tobago a country based on commodity exports, other than tourism. Its strenghts are petroleum gas, ammonia, iron and steel. As part of Caribbean, it has significant economic potential and growth opportunities. However, it is extremely vulnerable to natural hazards, and is now facing hard economic impacts due to COVID-19 pandemic. (World Bank)
