International Days

April 26th - World Intellectual Property Day

Today, April 26th, is "World Intellectual Property Day".

This day marks the 52nd anniversary of the Convention that created the "World Intellectual Property Organization," founded with the purpose of intensifying the international effort to protect intellectual rights.

Protection of intellectual property is essential for promoting creativity, innovation, and protecting investments, both for individuals and businesses. In today's highly competitive global market, companies are more reliant on their own ideas, knowledge, and inventions. Indeed, a clear legal framework is indispensable for businesses to operate, such as copyright, patent, and trademark laws.

This year’s theme is “IP and Youth” and acknowledges young people's enormous ability to create new and better solutions that can aid in the transition to a more sustainable future. The focus is on Gen Z and Millennials, generations with a very creative and innovative mindset.

Intellectual property is a driving force in innovation and SkyMinder’s Patent Due Diligence Report, allows you to get a clear picture of the patents that have been registered on a global scale and assess if a company is investing in research and development.
