Ships: import and export

Ships and boats in 2020 were the world’s 27th most traded product, with a value of $125billion. It represents 0.75% of total world trade.

Regarding export and imports, in 2020 South Korea ($23.2 billion), China ($21.8 billion), Japan ($12.3 billion), Germany ($6.78 billion), and Italy ($5.34 billion) were the top exporters of boats. Marshall Islands ($9.79 billion), Singapore ($8.53 billion), Panama ($7.9 billion), United States ($6.68 billion), and Liberia ($6.09 billion were the top importers.  Between 2019 and 2020 the exports of Ships, boats and floating structures decreased by -3.2%, from $129 billion to $125 billion.

 

Between 2019 and 2020, the exports of ships grew the fastest in South Korea ($3.58 billion), Saudi Arabia ($3.55 billion), Italy ($1.6 billion), Qatar ($743 million), and South Africa ($721 million). The fastest-growing importers were Malaysia ($3.8 billion), the Marshall Islands ($2.4B), the United States ($1.92 billion), Bermuda ($1.33 billion), and United Arab Emirates ($1.24 billion).
