In September 2023, China exported $14.3B and imported $14.3B from Japan, resulting in a positive trade balance of $8.94M. Between September 2022 and September 2023 the exports of China have decreased by $-984M (-6.45%) from $15.2 billion to $14.3 billion, while imports decreased by $-2.26B (-13.7%) from $16.5 billion to $14.3 billion.

Moreover, in September 2023, the top exports of China to Japan were Telephones ($1.05B), Computers ($925M), Iron Ore ($370M), Motor vehicles; parts and accessories (8701... ($338M), and Trunks and Cases ($270M). In September 2023 the top imports of China from Japan were Integrated Circuits ($1.9B), Machines and apparatus of a kind...($1.07B), Cars ($980M), Motor vehicles; parts and accessories (8701... ($651M), and Semiconductor Devices ($376M).

In September 2023 the exports of China were mainly from Jiangsu Province, with a substantial export value of $2.63 billion, Guangdong Province, whose exports amounted to $2.57 billion, Shandong Province, with exports valued at $1.95 billion, Shanghai Province ($1.8B), and Zhejiang Province ($1.36B), played roles in the global export market, with exports valued at $1.8 billion and $1.36 billion, respectively.

 

On the other hand, imports destinations were mainly Shanghai Province, whose imports amounted to $2.97 billion, Guangdong Province, with imports valued at $2.89 billion, Jiangsu Province, which contributed significantly with imports worth $2.34 billion, Beijing and Zhejiang Province played important roles in the global import market, with imports valued at $1.33 billion and $1.04 billion, respectively.

What about growth, in September 2023, the decrease in China's year-by-year exports to Japan was explained primarily by an decrease in product exports in Computers (-22.5%), Telephones (-9.34%), and Other Cloth Articles (-41.7%).

In September 2023, the decrease in China's year-by-year imports  from Japan was explained principally by a decrease in product imports  in LCDs (-88.4%), Spark-Ignition Engines (-75.8%), and Other Measuring Instruments (-15.8%).
