Cambodia: a look at the market

Cambodia is a country located in Southeast Asia, with a rich and complex history dating back to the Khmer Empire in the 9th century.
The Khmer Empire was known for its impressive temples and architectures, including the famous Angkor Wat which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, Cambodia experienced a dark period during the late 1970s when the Khmer Rouge regime committed mass genocide resulting in the death of an estimated 1.7 million people.

In 2020 Cambodia was the biggest exporter of Tanned Furskins ($165M) in the world, but it also exported Gold ($5.25B), Knit Sweaters ($2.15B), Knit Women's Suits ($1.55B), Trunks and Cases ($1.46B), and Non-Knit Women's Suits ($1.44B), exporting mostly to United States ($7.25B), Singapore ($5.07B), Germany ($1.84B), Japan ($1.63B), and China ($1.46B).
On the other hand, the top imports of Cambodia are Light Rubberized Knitted Fabric ($2.08B), Refined Petroleum ($1.82B), Gold ($1.43B), Bi-Wheel Vehicle Parts ($517M), and Cars ($450M), importing mostly from China ($8.07B), Thailand ($5.74B), Vietnam ($4.39B), Singapore ($1.59B), and Chinese Taipei ($750M). In 2020, Cambodia was also the world's biggest importer of Leather Sheets ($34.1M).
In terms of GDP, Cambodia was the number 102 economy in 2020.
